This is a newly created position designed for someone who is technically minded, organised, and wants to grow their career in estimating, electrical design, and project engineering.
You will work closely with the CEO, service coordinator, project managers, and site teams to deliver accurate estimates, prepare tender submissions, develop project scopes, review drawings, and provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of service and installation projects.
This role will suit an early-career engineer, estimator, or highly technical tradesperson looking to transition off the tools into an office-based engineering/estimating pathway.
Estimating & Tendering
• Prepare estimates for electrical service works, small projects, repairs, and minor installations
• Assist with tender preparation for commercial and government projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and site information to prepare accurate pricing
• Develop bills of quantities, take-offs, and labour/material breakdowns
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Engineering Support
• Assist with technical assessments, scope development, and project planning
• Support project managers with design reviews, compliance checks, and documentation
• Contribute to engineering inputs for solar, backup power, and electrical upgrade projects
• Assist with drawing updates, design notes, and technical submissions
Project Support
• Provide ongoing technical support for active projects
• Monitor variation requests, site queries, and changes in scope
• Assist with compliance documentation and commissioning records
• Work with the service team to ensure pricing, scoping, and deliverables align
Business Improvement
• Help refine internal estimating processes and workflows
• Maintain estimating templates, cost libraries, and systems
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and competitiveness in tenders
